 Today we went to Paracas. Little beach town about an hour north. Our whole zone went in 2 little buses. Fun but the beach we went to last beach pday is more fun since there's no civilization.  Ate ceviche for the second time. 


Elder Monteil is very serious about his mate like most Argentinos. He has a massive bag of mate leaves, and the whole elaborate rig. Big thermos, big gourd bowl, big metal straw. He hauls it around from time to time. That stuffs strong. Kinda hardcore for missionaries haha. 

Met a few new friends this week. One of the lessons took place in a hotel that one of the friends works at. Pretty interesting. Still teaching english to the daughter of our friend named Candy. 

Going to the Pisco zone this Thursday and Friday for Intercambios. An Elder in that zone is struggling so President arranged an exchange for him to spend 2 days with my comp Elder Montiel. They are both from Argentina.  So I'm switching comps with him and spending 2 days in a whole different zone. This is super exciting. Zone exchanges never happen besides ap's and hermanas with hermana leaders I guess. Excited to see what happens.

Week 1 in MTC

Finished week one of the MTC and dang it was good, and I knew it would be. Imma start out by saying that everyone has been crapping on this food. But in reality, it’s quite enjoyable for now. Even though it may get the stomach begging for dear life, but that’s alright. If I don’t put on weight here, I’m a lost cause. The Grand Canyon BYU Creamery ice cream is fire, aka gram slam for those with ball knowledge. Spanish is coming fine. Starting full immersion tomorrow. Not being able to speak English in class is gonna be a real challenge but also a huge learning opportunity. By far the best thing of all is my district. I’m blessed to have the best district of all time. Where all so different, it’s like we’re the Avengers. Teachers are chillers. They’re patient and knowledgeable, unlike how it is in school.   Didn't send an email last week because my phone got stolen in a taxi. Got swiped from my pocket. Luckily that was the only thing stolen. My new companion Elder Montiel is the goat. He's super patient with my broken spanish. But i feel bad for him because he was supposed to open a new area in the Vraem region of Peru, which is in the Amazons, but now he's stuck with me. Its super dangerous since that's the area of Peru that's been home to terrorists since the 80's. Its where all the cocaine in Peru comes from.  There's a bunch of narcos over there. Only Latinos will be able to go serve there for at least the next year. It will be the first jungle area in mission. The area is supposed to open next transfer.  Today for pday and we played soccer in the morning and pickle ball with Presidente and Hermana Byers in the afternoon.   Wow, I had such an amazing week. Friday was exchanges and I was once again with ZL Elder Huff.  It was my first time being in a different area and I got to spend some time in the Ica central. Carnival is going on right now. Its not a very big celebration in Ica, but it was cool to see, but sadly only for 2 seconds because Elder Huff did not enjoy the crowds. He's as locked in as a missionary can get which is good since I can learn from his ways. Our friend's baptism yesterday was a success. She has bone cancer, which is very tragic, and it made the baptism a whole lot harder. I didn't baptize her but I was still in the font to help out with the process. It was a very spiritual moment for everyone. I've never seem her so happy. Love you all!
